Charlie Michael is a photographer based in New York City whose work has been featured in National Geographic and beyond.

A San Diego native, Charlie’s work has been featured in exhibitions at the San Diego Museum of Photographic Arts in 2014, 2015, and 2016. He was selected as one of 25 finalists in the 2014 National Geographic Student Photo Contest, which saw over 2,500 entrants from across the nation. More recently, he was published in National Geographic's photos of the day in December 2016, and published in National Geographic’s ‘Atmospheric Street Scenes from Around the World’ in April 2020.

Charlie is an experienced freelance portrait and event photographer, having photographed for clients ranging from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government to Harambeans, a pioneering innovation network for African entrepreneurs.

Charlie’s work for Harambeans was central to Pentagram’s design and rebranding work for the organization, with Charlie’s images featured in NYC’s Times Square, the City of London, and beyond.
